The Giraffe Award - To the Local Organization
that "Sticks Its Neck Out" The Giraffe Award was established
in February 2003 to encourage continued advocacy toward the Kentucky
Federation's
major focus...pay equity. To this end, the Federation took the issue of pay
equity back to the grassroots...the State, Cities and Counties.
Kentucky Federation
members are encouraged to recognize and acknowledge Equal Pay Day on
April 12, 2011 with high-profile activities including securing Equal
Pay Day proclamations, writing letters to the editor, lobbying for
equal pay legislation on the state level, and encouraging employers to
conduct equal pay self-audits.
A point system has
been set up to aid in both submitting the report and judging.
